Chinese Secretaire Campaign Chest

A jaw dropping and very rare Chinese secretaire campaign chest. Made from camphorwood, this piece has a lovely refreshing scent when opened. The intricate secretaire drawer opens and folds out creating the writing surface and behind this a pigeon-holed area serves as storage for paper and envelopes etc. Above this a shallow drawer provides for inkwell and stationary. Elegant black lines decorate the fronts of the drawers. Other exquisite features include the beautiful turned feet, brass locks complete with keys and brass handles for the drawers. The chest is split into upper and lower parts with brass handles on the sides that are suitably large for carrying the chest. All in all a fabulous find.
