Georgian Mahogany Bureau Bookcase

A fine Georgian mahogany bureau and combined 'blind' bookcase. Opening the writing surface reveals twelve decent-sized drawers and six storage compartments. Just above this, at the intersection with the bookcase, there are two slide-out platforms - presumably to sit candles on, but equally useful as a resting place for your preferred tipple! The blind doors to the bookcase are both mirrored, with the right-hand side having a particularly beautiful example of natural foxing. The bottom section has four drawers adorned with ornate handle plates to match the brassware throughout the rest of the piece. All in all, a rather evocative item in splendid condition.
