A Japanese antique spectacle case. Hand carved from wood with a shagreen covering and decorative brass corner protectors. The case dates from the Meji Period 1868-1912. It is in wonderful condition with a rich deep colour and patina. The cord has a hand carved wooden bead. 19cms tall, 8cms wide and 3.5cms deep.
