Antique Gendarme glove puppet

A charming macabre antique Gendarme glove puppet. Hand made in France and dating from circa.1900. The head is made from papier mache with hand painted finish, the hands and feet are carved wood. He has a shrinkage crack on his face this is very stable. The puppet dates from circa.1900, I have made the stand from old vintage pieces. 38cms tall. 15 inches tall.
